The Black Watch Veteran's Association Levee 2022
This year, The Black Watch Veteran's Association did not give up on doing events. Although the pandemic is preventing people from getting together and has somewhat worsened with the arrival of the Omicron variant, they have still set up a zoom event to celebrate the New Year.
Around Christmas, they had also done a social for their members, proof that they are very in tune with their member's needs in these difficult times. A levée, is a social event hosted on New year's day by military establishments,
municipalities and other institutions. It allows people to come together, mingle and exchange and share various news.
I had the pleasure to meet up with various friends and acquaintances and have light easy conversation without the formalities of a real meeting. Past President Rick Cartmel was there and so were a few regular members such as Vicki Onufriu who hosts at the Montreal Highland Games with me in the genealogy section. Vicki has always been a firm supporter of Clan Logan through the years going way back to our first Highland Games in Montreal in 2015. Hard to believe that June 2022 will mark the 7th anniversary of The Clan Logan Society of Canada. President Gord Richie was also there to see if everyone is doing alright starting this new Year and to find out what our plans were.
What a great way to start 2022.Clan Logan feels priviledged to be an active member of The Black Watch Veteran's Association as this gives us insight on what matters, how we can participate, help and make our own difference.
