At the Saint-Andrew's Ball 2016

On Friday, December 2nd 2016, the St.Andrew’s Ball was held at the luxurious Marriott Chateau Champlain in Montreal Canada. All proceeds of the Ball will fund the St.Andrew’s Society of Montreal-Mcuen Scholarship Foundation Chair in Canadian-Scottish Studies at McGill University.

It was the first time the Clan Logan Society of Canada attended this prestigious event. The guest of honour this year were Ian Skone-Rees, FSA Scot, President of the St.Andrew’s Society of Los Angeles and his wife Eileen B.Skone-Rees. The Clan Logan Society of Canada was represented by Steven Logan, Clan Logan Chief Ambassador of Canada and his first Clanswoman, Isabelle Laflamme who proudly wore the Logan modern tartan sash at this event. Among the various highlights of the evening, there was a Champagne reception, a Bugle call to Dinner, Mrs.Kathleen Rochford who sang The Star Spangled Banner followed by O Canada to perfection, The Selkirk grace given by Reverend Glenn Chestnutt, a very lively and dynamic Adress to the Haggis done by Peter Stewart MacGowan. There was also a very nice Highland Dance Performance done by The Montreal Highland Dancing Association. A silent Auction was also held.

Add The Black Watch Pipes and Drums and you really do have the perfect evening.

Many were impressed to see Clan Logan including the President of the St.Andrew’s Society of Montreal, Mr.Brian S.Mackenzie who was pleased to meet Clan member Isabelle Laflamme for the first time. Clan Logan did not pass by unnoticed this year. The fact that two people from the Clan were in attendance is a strong indicator of our existance and presence, something that can no longer be denied! It was en evening to remember. Clan Logan Society of Canada would like to thank everyone who made this magical evening possible.
