Montreal Highland Games 2017

Clan Logan hosted at the Montreal Highland Games  on August 6th, 2017. These games were held at the Verdun Douglas Institute grounds. It was a beautiful day as strong men in kilts did their stone putting and caliber tossing. There was a caledonian run, bagpipers everywhere and activities for children in the family village. The Clan Logan Society of Canada was pleased to be part of all this. The sons of Scotland benevolent association and Irish dancing association were there, the Armed Forces also had a booth and were ready to greet people. There were many vendors selling their wares from British foods to those selling various Scottish items. In the ceilidth tent, we were able to get music from the likes of Mariner's curse, kitchen party and Mudmen.Of course, there were also lots of action on the field. There were athletics like the caber toss and sheaf toss not to forget the ever popular tug of war.

Clan Logan greeted people that came to the tent. The Clans were there, from clan MacNicoll to clan Campbell. The list of Clans is growing with new faces that the Montreal highland games haven't seen before. The event celebrated its 40th Anniversary at the Douglas Institute grounds. Many activities were setup to celebrate Canada's 150th and Montreal's 357th. On this occasion, many people that visited Clan Logan had previously come back. The first Logans that visited us here at the Montreal games, Charles and Jessika Roy Logan, visited us again. They told us they would help us now and again at various events to encourage us! We would like to thank the organizers and volunteers at these games that made this event special.
