           Tartan Day Celebration

On Saturday, April 6th, 2019 was the Verdun tartan day celebration. It was held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lasalle. It was an evening that paid tribute to all Scots. But why do we celebrate tartan day? April 6th, 1320 is when the Declaration of Arbroath was signed, the Scottish declaration of independence. Canada wants to honour all Scots so on October 21, 2010, the Minister of Canadian Heritage officially declared April 6th tartan day.Clan Logan attended with member Laurent Audar who proudly wore his Logan tartan kilt. There were performances from the BlackWatch Association Pipes & Drums and the Stephenson School of Highland dance. We were honoured to attend because we need to reach out to other Logans in our city who may not know we are here. We would like to thank Jim Sheppard and the Scottish Society of Montreal for the invitation to attend.
