Montreal Kiltskate

This year, Clan Logan participated in it's first Montreal kiltskate on January 25th, 2020
at the Atrium skating rink at Bonaventure station. The kiltskate happened indoors this year. In the
last few years, the Montreal Kiltskate was cancelled due to very cold and snowy weather which preventedthe event from happening to the great deception of many. The first Kiltskate began on January 31st, 2015 hosted by the Scottish Society of Ottawa to mark the bicentennial of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A Macdonald.

The purpose of the kiltskate is to show your Scottish pride and to celebrate the contributions Scots have made all over the world. The Montreal kiltskate was hosted by the Montreal Saint Andrew's Society and there was a great attendance. Many came with their kilts and skated including your Commissioner who gave it his best although being a little rusty on the ice! Clan Logan was represented with pride and the Clan Logan Society of Canada flag was waved.Clan Logan
members and supporters came.

We were pleased to see familiar faces like George Black who helped us promote the Montreal Highland Games last year and Our members Krista-Lee Scott and her boyfriend Justin Tinkler. Among the people in attendance were The Deputy mayor of Montreal, Sterling Downey, his wife Melissa and little Graeson who was just learning to skate. We all  enjoyed some cake together, had a few laughs and listened to the bagpipes. Scottish dancers came and put on a show for us.It was a successful event.
