Burns night 2020
On Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, the Saint Andrew's Society of Montreal celebrated the life
of our Scottish bard and poet, Robert Burns. Clan Logan was invited to this special celebration
that was held at the luxurious and exclusive Forest and Stream Club in Dorval. Laurent Audar,
Vice-President of the Clan Logan Society of Canada attended and made us all proud by promoting
our values and traditions with various people in attendance. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted
by Marilyn Meikle, President of the Saint Andrew's Society who came to shake our hand and thanked
Clan Logan for its active participation. We began the evening with cocktails and then we were called
to our respective tables. We have made so many events with this group of people that we knew everyone
sitting at our table and a vast majority of the people at the event. Everyone in the Scottish community
in Montreal knows about Clan Logan and we were greeted warmly as good friends. The Selkirk Grace was
given and the Haggis was piped in. We got an excellent address to a haggis and heard various toasts given.
We managed to met up with various acquaintances including the guest of honour for the evening,
Sterling Downey, Deputy Mayor of the city of Montreal. The evening concluded with Auld Lang Syne.
The Montreal Saint Andrew's Society gave us a lovely evening we shall always remember.
