Black Watch Veterans' association meeting
On the evening of Tuesday January 26th, 2021, Clan Logan attended the virtual Black Watch Veterans Association
meeting. It was an opportunity to meet up with our veterans and started with general chit chat. we enjoyed getting
everyone's news as we can't meet up at The Black Watch Armoury just yet. The Association then gave a detailed
report and spoke of the activities done by the Association through the holidays and gave details of what's to come
for 2021.
Clan Logan was surprised to learn that Lt. Col. Bruno Plourde has taken over the role of 2nd Vice-President.
Bruno Plourde was the person who greeted us and noticed Clan Logan at our very first Montreal Highland Games in 2015.
We also had the opportunity to participate at many Black Watch Regiment activities together though the years. It was
nice to see a familiar face and know that we will continue to work together closely. Mireille Gravel mcLellan represented
the Black Watch family Division(formerly the Woman's Division). At this meeting, there was cake as we celebrated the
158th Anniversary of the Black Watch regiment. Among the topics discussed were welfare issues for our veterans at
St-Anne's Hospital. Sterling Downey, City Councilor of Montreal was also present. Questions were raised about our
Canadian legion and Sterling answered various questions given as to how they can be helped. Clan Logan joined the
conversation and was able to promote the Chief restoration zoom meeting hosted by our own John Marjoribanks that
we will be having Feb.6th. It was a wonderful meeting that we enjoyed!
