Visiting our veterans
The holiday season is a magical time in Canada but like in many places in the world, some people go through difficult times. On December 8th, 2019, Clan Logan joined the Black Watch Women's division and Regiment to go and visit the St-Anne's Veteran Hospital located in St-Anne de Bellevue Québec.
It was a very memorable day as we were greeted by the Black Watch Veterans Association, invited to have coffee and doughnuts before we prepare to met up with the veterans and bring some holiday cheer. Our group took the lift to the eleventh floor.
We went to various rooms with The Black Watch and visited Veterans, some who were very lonely and that had no family. They received a gift, a hug or two, hand shakes and some conversation. They were all very moved and grateful by the gestures. We were humbled and moved when we saw their eyes fill with tears of happiness. We were so pleased that Clan Logan could make a difference and warm a few hearts. After the visits, the veterans were invited to see a show. They saw Scottish dancers and The Black Watch Pipes and Drums. It was a beautiful and honourable sight indeed given by our Scottish community. We really enjoyed this day.
